Nebuchadnezzar’s Second Dream

4 ^{▼▼Ch 4:1 in Aramaic} I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and prospering in my palace.

Daniel 4:6

6 So ^fI made a decree that ^gall the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream.

Daniel 4:16-17

16 Let his mind be changed from a man’s, and let a beast’s mind be given to him; ^hand let seven periods of time ⁱpass over him. 17 The sentence is by the decree of ^jthe watchers, the decision by the word of ^kthe holy ones, to the end that the living may know that the Most High ^lrules the kingdom of men ^mand gives it to whom he will and ⁿsets over it the lowliest of men.’

Daniel 5:7-8

7 ^oThe king called loudly to bring in ^pthe enchanters, the ^qChaldeans, and ^rthe astrologers. The king declared ^{▼▼Aramaic answered and said; also verse 10} to the wise men of Babylon, ^t“Whoever reads this writing, and shows me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around his neck and ^ushall be the third ruler in the kingdom.” 8 Then all the king’s wise men came in, but ^vthey could not read the writing or make known to the king the interpretation.

13 Then Daniel was brought in before the king. The king answered and said to Daniel, “You are that Daniel, one of ^wthe exiles of Judah, whom the king my father brought from Judah.

16 ^xBut I have heard that you can give interpretations and ^ysolve problems. ^zNow if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, ^aayou shall be clothed with purple and have a chain of gold around your neck and ^abshall be the third ruler in the kingdom.”

Daniel 5:18
