10 When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where ^ahe had windows in his upper chamber open ^btoward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees ^cthree times a day and prayed and ^dgave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

13 Then they answered and said before the king, ^e“Daniel, who is one ^fof the exiles ^gfrom Judah, ^hpays no attention to you, O king, or ⁱthe injunction you have signed, but makes his petition ^jthree times a day.”
