Daniel 9:20-23

Gabriel Brings an Answer

20 aWhile I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the Lord my God for bthe holy hill of my God, 21while I was speaking in prayer, the man cGabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, dcame to me in swift flight at ethe time of the evening sacrifice. 22 fHe made me understand, speaking with me and saying, “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you ginsight and understanding. 23 hAt the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, iand I have come to tell it to you, for jyou are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word kand understand the vision.

Luke 15:18-24

18I will arise and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, lI have sinned against mheaven and before you. 19 nI am no longer worthy to be called your son. Treat me as one of your hired servants.”’ 20And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and oran and pembraced him and qkissed him. 21And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. rI am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

22But the father said to his servants,
Greek bondservants
Bring quickly uthe best robe, and put it on him, and put va ring on his hand, and wshoes on his feet.
23And bring xthe fattened calf and kill it, and ylet us eat and celebrate. 24For this my son zwas dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

1 John 1:8-10

8 aaIf we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and abthe truth is not in us. 9 acIf we confess our sins, he is adfaithful and just to forgive us our sins and aeto cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say we have not sinned, afwe make him a liar, and aghis word is not in us.
