Daniel 9:24-27

The Seventy Weeks

24 aSeventy weeks
Or sevens; also twice in verse 25 and once in verse 26
are decreed about your people and cyour holy city, to finish dthe transgression, to put an end to sin, eand to atone for iniquity, fto bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and gto anoint a most holy place.
Or thing, or one
25 iKnow therefore and understand that jfrom the going out of the word to restore and kbuild Jerusalem to the coming of an lanointed one, a mprince, there shall be seven weeks. Then for sixty-two weeks it shall be built again
Or  there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It shall be built again
with squares and moat, obut in a troubled time.
26And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall pbe cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come qshall destroy the city and the sanctuary. rIts
Or His
end shall come with a flood, tand to the end there shall be war. uDesolations are decreed.
27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week,
Or seven; twice in this verse
and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. wAnd on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until xthe decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”

John 19:24

24so they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be.” alThis was to fulfill the Scripture which says,

am“They divided my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.”
So the soldiers did these things,

John 19:31-37

Jesus’ Side Is Pierced

31Since it was anthe day of Preparation, and aoso that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was apa high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and that they might be taken away. 32So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other aqwho had been crucified with him. 33But when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out arblood and water. 35 asHe who saw it has borne witnessathis testimony is true, and he knows that he is telling the truthauthat you also may believe. 36 avFor these things took place that the Scripture might be fulfilled: aw“Not one of his bones axwill be broken.” 37And again another Scripture says, ay“They will look on him whom they have pierced.”
