Fasting

16And bwhen you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. cTruly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

A Question About Fasting

14Then dthe disciples of John came to him, saying, eWhy do we and fthe Pharisees fast,

but your disciples do not fast?”
15And Jesus said to them, hCan the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? iThe days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and jthen they will fast.

Luke 2:37

37and then as a widow until she was eighty-four.
Or  as a widow for eighty-four years
She did not depart from the temple, lworshiping with mfasting and prayer night and day.
