Daniel 9:7-16

7To you, aO Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, bthose who are near and cthose who are far away, in dall the lands to which you have driven them, because of ethe treachery that they have committed against you. 8To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because fwe have sinned against you. 9 gTo the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him 10 hand have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by ihis servants the prophets. 11 jAll Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, krefusing to obey your voice. lAnd the curse and oath mthat are written in the Law of nMoses the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because owe have sinned against him. 12He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against pour rulers who ruled us,
Or  our judges who judged us
by rbringing upon us a great calamity. sFor under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what has been done against Jerusalem.
13 tAs it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not entreated the favor of the Lord our God, uturning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth. 14 vTherefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, wfor the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and xwe have not obeyed his voice. 15And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt ywith a mighty hand, and zhave made a name for yourself, as at this day, aawe have sinned, we have done wickedly.

16“O Lord, abaccording to all your righteous acts, let your anger and your wrath turn away from your city Jerusalem, acyour holy hill, adbecause for our sins, and for aethe iniquities of our fathers, afJerusalem and your people have become aga byword among all who are around us.

Micah 3:9-12

9 ahHear this, you heads of the house of Jacob
and rulers of the house of Israel,
aiwho detest justice
and make crooked all that is straight,
10 ajwho build Zion with blood
and Jerusalem with iniquity.
11 akIts heads give judgment for a bribe;
alits priests teach for a price;
amits prophets practice divination for money;
anyet they lean on the Lord and aosay,
“Is not the Lord in the midst of us?
apNo disaster shall come upon us.”
12Therefore because of you
aqZion shall be plowed as a field;
Jerusalem arshall become a heap of ruins,
and asthe mountain of the house ata wooded height.

Zephaniah 3:1-8

2She listens to no voice;
avshe accepts no correction.
awShe does not trust in the Lord;
she does not draw near to her God.
3 axHer officials within her
are roaring lions;
her judges are ayevening wolves
that leave nothing till the morning.
4 azHer prophets are fickle, treacherous men;
baher priests bbprofane what is holy;
they do violence to the law.
5The Lord within her bcis righteous;
he does no injustice;
every morning he shows forth his justice;
each dawn he does not fail;
but bdthe unjust knows no shame.
6 be“I have cut off nations;
their battlements are in ruins;
I have laid waste their streets
bfso that no one walks in them;
their cities have been made desolate,
without a man, without an inhabitant.
7 bgI said, ‘Surely you will fear me;
bhyou will accept correction.

But bkall the more they were eager
to make all their deeds corrupt.
8 Therefore blwait for me,” declares the Lord,
“for the day when I rise up to seize the prey.
For my decision is bmto gather nations,
to assemble kingdoms,
to pour out upon them my indignation,
all my burning anger;
for in the fire of my jealousy
bnall the earth shall be consumed.
