17 aYou shall not be partial in judgment. You shall hear the small and the great alike. You shall not be intimidated by anyone, for bthe judgment is God’s. And the case that is too hard for you, you shall cbring to me, and I will hear it.’Psalms 82:1-6
Rescue the Weak and Needy
A Psalm of dAsaph.
1 eGod fhas taken his place in the divine council;in the midst of gthe gods he hholds judgment:
2“How long will you judge unjustly
and ishow partiality to jthe wicked? Selah
3 kGive justice to lthe weak and the fatherless;
mmaintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
4 nRescue the weak and the needy;
odeliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
5 pThey have neither knowledge nor understanding,
qthey walk about in darkness;
rall the foundations of the earth are sshaken.
6 tI said, “You are gods,
sons of the Most High, all of you;

8 uIf you see in a province the oppression of the poor and the violation of justice and righteousness, vdo not be amazed at the matter, wfor the high official is watched by a higher, and there are yet higher ones over them.
