The Penalty for Israel’s Rebellion

34 “And the Lord heard your words and was angered, and he swore, 35 ^a‘Not one of these men of this evil generation shall see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers,

Deuteronomy 12:9

9 for you have not as yet come to ^bthe rest and to the inheritance that the Lord your God is giving you.

Hebrews 4:3

3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,

^c“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.
