Deuteronomy 10

New Tablets of Stone

1“At that time the Lord said to me, aCut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and bmake an ark of wood. 2And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and cyou shall put them in the ark.’ 3So I made an ark dof acacia wood, and ecut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. 4And fhe wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments
Hebrew words
hthat the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire ion the day of the assembly. And the Lord gave them to me.
5Then I turned and jcame down from the mountain and kput the tablets in the ark that I had made. lAnd there they are, as the Lord commanded me.”

6(The people of Israel mjourneyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan
Or the wells of the Bene-jaakan
to Moserah. oThere Aaron died, and there he was buried. And his son Eleazar ministered as priest in his place.
7 pFrom there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with brooks of water. 8At that time qthe Lord set apart the tribe of Levi rto carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord sto stand before the Lord to minister to him and tto bless in his name, to this day. 9 uTherefore Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers. The Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord your God said to him.)

10 v“I myself stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights, wand the Lord listened to me that time also. The Lord was unwilling to destroy you. 11 xAnd the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, go on your journey at the head of the people, so that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.’

Circumcise Your Heart

12“And now, Israel, ywhat does the Lord your God require of you, but zto fear the Lord your God, aato walk in all his ways, abto love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13and acto keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today adfor your good? 14Behold, aeto the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, afthe earth with all that is in it. 15Yet agthe Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. 16Circumcise therefore ahthe foreskin of your heart, and be no longer aistubborn. 17For the Lord your God is ajGod of gods and akLord of lords, althe great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is amnot partial and takes no bribe. 18 anHe executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. 19 aoLove the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. 20 apYou shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and aqhold fast to him, and arby his name you shall swear. 21 asHe is your praise. He is your God, atwho has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. 22Your fathers went down to Egypt auseventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you avas numerous as the stars of heaven.

Deuteronomy 13:12

12If you hear in one of your cities, which the Lord your God is giving you to dwell there,

Joshua 15:1-8

The Allotment for Judah

1The allotment for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their clans reached southward awto the boundary of Edom, to axthe wilderness of Zin at the farthest south. 2And their south boundary ran from the end of the aySalt Sea, from the bay that faces southward. 3It goes out southward of azthe ascent of Akrabbim, passes along to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh-barnea, along by Hezron, up to Addar, turns about to Karka, 4passes along to Azmon, goes out by bathe Brook of Egypt, and comes to its end at the sea. This shall be your south boundary. 5And the east boundary is the bbSalt Sea, to the mouth of the Jordan. And the boundary on the north side runs from the bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan. 6And the boundary goes up to bcBeth-hoglah and passes along north of bdBeth-arabah. And the boundary goes up to bethe stone of Bohan the son of Reuben. 7And the boundary goes up to Debir from bfthe Valley of Achor, and so northward, turning toward Gilgal, which is opposite bgthe ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the valley. And the boundary passes along to the waters of bhEn-shemesh and ends at biEn-rogel. 8Then the boundary goes up by bjthe Valley of the Son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite ( bkthat is, Jerusalem). And the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the Valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the Valley blof Rephaim.

Joshua 16

The Allotment for Ephraim and Manasseh

1The allotment of the people of Joseph went from the Jordan by Jericho, east of the waters of Jericho, bminto the wilderness, going up from Jericho into the hill country to Bethel. 2Then bngoing from Bethel to Luz, it passes along to Ataroth, the territory of the Archites. 3Then it goes down westward to the territory of the Japhletites, as far as the territory of Lower boBeth-horon, then to bpGezer, and it ends at the sea.

4 bqThe people of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

5The territory of the people of Ephraim by their clans was as follows: the boundary of their inheritance on the east was brAtaroth-addar as far as Upper Beth-horon, 6and the boundary goes from there to the sea. On the north is bsMichmethath. Then on the east the boundary turns around toward Taanath-shiloh and passes along beyond it on the east to Janoah, 7then it goes down from Janoah to Ataroth and btto Naarah, and touches Jericho, ending at the Jordan. 8From buTappuah the boundary goes westward to the brook Kanah and ends at the sea. Such is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Ephraim by their clans, 9together with bvthe towns that were set apart for the people of Ephraim within the inheritance of the Manassites, all those towns with their villages. 10However, bwthey did not drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer, so the Canaanites have lived in the midst of Ephraim to this day but have been made bxto do forced labor.
