Deuteronomy 12:2
2 aYou shall surely destroy all the places where the nations whom you shall dispossess served their gods, bon the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree.2 Kings 17:9-10
9And the people of Israel did secretly against the Lord their God things that were not right. They built for themselves high places in all their towns, cfrom watchtower to fortified city. 10They set up for themselves dpillars and Asherim on every high hill and under every green tree,2 Kings 21:3-7
3For he rebuilt the high places ethat Hezekiah his father had destroyed, and he erected altars for Baal and made fan Asherah, gas Ahab king of Israel had done, hand worshiped all the host of heaven and served them. 4 iAnd he built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord had said, j“In Jerusalem will I put my name.” 5And he built altars kfor all the host of heaven in lthe two courts of the house of the Lord. 6 mAnd he burned his son as an offering ▼▼Hebrew made his son pass through the fire
and oused fortune-telling and pomens and dealt qwith mediums and with necromancers. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger. 7And the carved image of rAsherah that he had made he set in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, sand in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put my name forever. 2 Chronicles 28:4
4And he sacrificed and tmade offerings on the high places and on the hills and under every green tree.Jeremiah 17:2
2while utheir children remember their altars and their vAsherim, wbeside every green tree and on the high hills,Micah 5:14
