Deuteronomy 13:1-10

1If a prophet or aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God cis testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4You shall dwalk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and ehold fast to him. 5But fthat prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. gSo you shall purge the evil

from your midst.

6 iIf your brother, the son of your mother, or your son or your daughter or jthe wife you embrace

or your friend lwho is as your own soul entices you secretly, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods,’ mwhich neither you nor your fathers have known,
7some nof the gods of the peoples who are around you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other, 8you shall onot yield to him or listen to him, nor pshall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. 9But you shall kill him. qYour hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. 10 rYou shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

Deuteronomy 17:2-7

2 sIf there is found among you, within any of your towns that the Lord your God is giving you, a man or woman who does what is evil in the sight of the Lord your God, tin transgressing his covenant, 3and has gone and served other gods and worshiped them, or uthe sun or the moon or any of the host of heaven, vwhich I have forbidden, 4and it is told you and you hear of it, then you shall inquire wdiligently, and if it is true and certain that such an abomination has been done in Israel, 5then you shall bring out to your gates that man or woman who has done this evil thing, and you xshall stone that man or woman to death with stones. 6 yOn the evidence of two witnesses or of three witnesses the one who is to die shall be put to death; a person shall not be put to death on the evidence of one witness. 7 zThe hand of the witnesses shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. Jeremiah 6:14-15

14They have healed the wound of my people lightly,
saying, adPeace, peace,’
aewhen there is no peace.
15 afWere they ashamed when they committed abomination?
No, they were not at all ashamed;
they did not know how to blush.
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
agat the time that I punish them, they shall be overthrown,”

says the Lord.

Jeremiah 8:11-12

11They have healed ahthe wound of my people lightly,
saying, ‘Peace, peace,’
when there is no peace.
12Were they ashamed when they committed abomination?
No, aithey were not at all ashamed;
they did not know how to blush.
ajTherefore they shall fall among the fallen;
when I punish them, they shall be overthrown,

Jeremiah 14:15

15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although akI did not send them, and who say, alSword and famine shall not come upon this land’: amBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.

Ezekiel 14:4

4Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Any one of the house of Israel who takes his idols into his heart and sets the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to the prophet, anI the Lord will answer him as he comes with the multitude of his idols,

Ezekiel 14:7-8

7For any one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel, aowho separates himself from me, taking his idols into his heart and putting the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face, and yet comes to a prophet to consult me through him, apI the Lord will answer him myself. 8And aqI will set my face against that man; I arwill make him a sign and a byword asand cut him off from the midst of my people, atand you shall know that I am the Lord.

Revelation of John 19:19-21

19And I saw authe beast and the kings of the earth with their armies avgathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army. 20And the beast was captured, and with it awthe false prophet axwho in its presence

had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who azworshiped its image. These two were bathrown alive into the lake of bbfire that burns with sulfur.
