Deuteronomy 13:1-3

1If a prophet or aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God cis testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

1 Kings 18:19-22

19Now therefore send and gather all Israel to me at Mount dCarmel, and the e450 prophets of Baal and fthe 400 prophets of Asherah, gwho eat at Jezebel’s table.”

The Prophets of Baal Defeated

20So Ahab sent to all the people of Israel and gathered the prophets together at Mount Carmel. 21And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long hwill you go limping between two different opinions? iIf the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word. 22Then Elijah said to the people, j“I, even I only, am left a prophet of the Lord, but Baal’s prophets are k450 men.

1 Kings 22:6

6Then the king of Israel lgathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall I go to battle against Ramoth-gilead, or shall I refrain?” And they said, “Go up, for the Lord will give it into the hand of the king.”

Nehemiah 6:12-14

12And I understood and saw that God had not sent him, mbut he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 13For this purpose he was hired, that I should be afraid and act in this way and sin, and so they could give me a bad name in order to taunt me. 14 nRemember Tobiah and Sanballat, O my God, according to these things that they did, and also othe prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who wanted to make me afraid.

Isaiah 9:15

15 pthe elder and honored man is the head,
and qthe prophet who teaches lies is the tail;

Isaiah 56:10-11

10 rHis watchmen are blind;
they are all without knowledge;
they are all silent sdogs;
they cannot bark,
dreaming, lying down,
loving to slumber.
11 tThe dogs have a mighty appetite;
they never have enough.
But uthey are shepherds who have no understanding;
they have all turned to their own way,
veach to his own gain, one and all.
