1If a prophet or aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. 1 Kings 22:22

22And the Lord said to him, ‘By what means?’ And he said, ‘I will go out, and will be da lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said, ‘You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’

Jeremiah 23:14-15

14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
ethey commit adultery and walk in lies;
fthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
gall of them have become like Sodom to me,
hand its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”
15Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
iBehold, I will feed them with bitter food
jand give them kpoisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”

Ezekiel 13:10-16

10Precisely because they have misled my people, lsaying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace, and because, when the people build a wall, mthese prophets smear it with whitewash,
Or plaster; also verses 11, 14, 15
11say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! oThere will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out. 12And when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the coating with which you smeared it?’ 13Therefore thus says the Lord God: pI will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath, qand there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to make a full end. 14And I will break down the wall that you have smeared with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it, rand you shall know that I am the Lord. 15Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall and upon those who have smeared it with whitewash, and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who smeared it, 16the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem sand saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, declares the Lord God.

Zechariah 13:3

3And if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, t‘You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who bore him shall pierce him through when he prophesies.
