Deuteronomy 13:1-3

1If a prophet or aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God cis testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Isaiah 9:15-16

15 dthe elder and honored man is the head,
and ethe prophet who teaches lies is the tail;
16for those who guide this people have been leading them astray,
and those who are guided by them are swallowed up.

Jeremiah 14:14-16

14And the Lord said to me: “The fprophets are prophesying lies in my name. gI did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, hworthless divination, and ithe deceit of their own minds. 15Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although jI did not send them, and who say, kSword and famine shall not come upon this land’: lBy sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed. 16And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem, victims of famine and sword, mwith none to bury themthem, their wives, their sons, and their daughters. For I will pour out their evil upon them.

Jeremiah 23:13-16

13In the prophets of nSamaria
oI saw an unsavory thing:
pthey prophesied by Baal
qand led my people Israel astray.
14But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
rthey commit adultery and walk in lies;
sthey strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
tall of them have become like Sodom to me,
uand its inhabitants like Gomorrah.”
15Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
vBehold, I will feed them with bitter food
wand give them xpoisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, yfilling you with vain hopes. zThey speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord.

Matthew 24:4-5

4And Jesus answered them, aaSee that no one leads you astray. 5For abmany will come in my name, saying, ‘I am acthe Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.

Matthew 24:11

11And many adfalse prophets will arise aeand lead many astray.

Matthew 24:24-25

24For affalse christs and agfalse prophets will arise and ahperform great signs and wonders, aiso as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. 25See, ajI have told you beforehand.
