Deuteronomy 13:1-5

1 “If a prophet or ^aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2 and ^bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3 you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God ^cis testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 You shall ^dwalk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and ^ehold fast to him. 5 But ^fthat prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. ^gSo you shall purge the evil ^{▼▼Or evil person} from your midst.

Jeremiah 29:27

27 Now why have you not rebuked Jeremiah ⁱof Anathoth who is prophesying to you?

Zechariah 13:3-6

3 And if anyone again prophesies, his father and mother who bore him will say to him, ^j‘You shall not live, for you speak lies in the name of the Lord.’ And his father and mother who bore him shall pierce him through when he prophesies.

4 “On that day ^kevery prophet will be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies. He will not put on a hairy cloak in order to deceive, 5 but he will say, ^l‘I am no prophet, I am a worker of the soil, for a man sold me in my youth.’ ^{▼▼Or for the land has been my possession since my youth} 6 And if one asks him, ‘What are these wounds on your back?’ ^{▼▼Or on your chest; Hebrew wounds between your hands} he will say, ‘The wounds I received in the house of my friends.’
