Deuteronomy 13:1-5

1If a prophet or aa dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and bthe sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God cis testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4You shall dwalk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and ehold fast to him. 5But fthat prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of slavery, to make you leave the way in which the Lord your God commanded you to walk. gSo you shall purge the evil
Or  evil person
from your midst.

Proverbs 14:15

15 iThe simple believes everything,
but the prudent gives thought to his steps.

Jeremiah 5:31

31 jthe prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests rule at their direction;
kmy people love to have it so,
but what will you do when the end comes?

Jeremiah 29:8-9

8For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: lDo not let your prophets and myour diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream,
Hebrew your dreams, which you cause to dream
9for oit is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; pI did not send them, declares the Lord.

Matthew 7:15-16

A Tree and Its Fruit

15 qBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are rravenous wolves. 16You will recognize them sby their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

Matthew 24:4-5

4And Jesus answered them, tSee that no one leads you astray. 5For umany will come in my name, saying, ‘I am vthe Christ,’ and they will lead many astray.

Romans 16:18

18For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but wtheir own appetites,
Greek  their own belly
and yby smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
