Deuteronomy 13:15-16

15you shall surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword, devoting it to destruction,
That is, setting apart ( devoting) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
all who are in it and its cattle, with the edge of the sword.
16You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its open square and bburn the city and all its spoil with fire, as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. It shall be a cheap forever. It shall not be built again.

Joshua 7:25-26

25And Joshua said, “Why did you dbring trouble on us? The Lord brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel estoned him with stones. fThey burned them with fire and stoned them with stones. 26And they raised over him ga great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then hthe Lord turned from his burning anger. Therefore, to this day the name of that place is called the Valley of Achor.
 Achor means trouble


1 Samuel 14:38-39

38And Saul said, “Come here, all you leaders of the people, and know and see how this sin has arisen today. 39For jas the Lord lives who saves Israel, kthough it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die.” But there was not a man among all the people who answered him.
