Deuteronomy 13:15-17

15you shall surely put the inhabitants of that city to the sword, devoting it to destruction,
That is, setting apart ( devoting) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
all who are in it and its cattle, with the edge of the sword.
16You shall gather all its spoil into the midst of its open square and bburn the city and all its spoil with fire, as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. It shall be a cheap forever. It shall not be built again. 17 dNone of the devoted things shall stick to your hand, ethat the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy and have compassion on you and multiply you, fas he swore to your fathers,

2 Chronicles 25:13

13But the men of the army whom Amaziah sent back, not letting them go with him to battle, raided the cities of Judah, gfrom Samaria to Beth-horon, and struck down 3,000 people in them and took much spoil.

2 Chronicles 28:6-9

6For hPekah the son of Remaliah killed 120,000 from Judah in one day, all of them men of valor, because they had forsaken the Lord, the God of their fathers. 7And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, killed Maaseiah the king’s son and Azrikam the commander of the palace and Elkanah the next in authority to the king.

8The men of Israel took captive 200,000 iof their relatives, women, sons, and daughters. They also took much spoil from them and brought the spoil to Samaria. 9But a prophet of the Lord was there, whose name was Oded, and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria and said to them, “Behold, because the Lord, the God of your fathers, jwas angry with Judah, he gave them into your hand, but you have killed them in a rage kthat has reached up to heaven.

Proverbs 18:19

19A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city,
and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.
