27And you shall not neglect athe Levite who is within your towns, for bhe has no portion or inheritance with you.

28 c“At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. 29And the Levite, because dhe has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that ethe Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.

2 Chronicles 11:13-14

Priests and Levites Come to Jerusalem

13And the priests and the Levites who were in all Israel presented themselves to him from all places where they lived. 14For the Levites left ftheir common lands and their holdings and came to Judah and Jerusalem, gbecause Jeroboam and his sons cast them out from serving as priests of the Lord,

2 Chronicles 31:4-21

4And he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give hthe portion due to the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the Law of the Lord. 5As soon as the command was spread abroad, the people of Israel gave in abundance the firstfruits of grain, wine, oil, honey, and of all the produce of the field. And they brought in abundantly ithe tithe of everything. 6And the people of Israel and Judah who lived in the cities of Judah also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and jthe tithe of the dedicated things that had been dedicated to the Lord their God, and laid them in heaps. 7In the third month they began to pile up the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month. 8When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed the Lord and his people Israel. 9And Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites about the heaps. 10Azariah the chief priest, who was kof the house of Zadok, answered him, “Since they began to bring the contributions into the house of the Lord, we have eaten and had enough and have plenty left, lfor the Lord has blessed his people, so that we have this large amount left.”

11Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare mchambers in the house of the Lord, and they prepared them. 12And they faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes, and the dedicated things. The chief officer nin charge of them was Conaniah the Levite, with oShimei his brother as second, 13 pwhile Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, qMahath, and Benaiah were overseers assisting Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king and rAzariah the chief officer of the house of God. 14And Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, keeper of the east gate, was over the freewill offerings to God, to apportion the contribution reserved for the Lord and the most holy offerings. 15 sEden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah were faithfully assisting him in tthe cities of the priests, to distribute the portions to their brothers, old and young alike, by divisions, 16except those enrolled by genealogy, males from three years old and upwardall who entered the house of the Lord uas the duty of each day required—for their service according to their offices, by their divisions. 17The enrollment of the priests was according to their fathershouses; that of the Levites vfrom twenty years old and upward was according to their offices, by their divisions. 18They were enrolled with all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, the whole assembly, for they were faithful in keeping themselves holy. 19And for the sons of Aaron, the priests, who were in the fields of common land belonging to their cities, there were men in the several cities who were wdesignated by name to distribute portions to every male among the priests and to everyone among the Levites who was enrolled.

20Thus Hezekiah did throughout all Judah, xand he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. 21And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God and in accordance with the law and the commandments, seeking his God, he did with all his heart, and prospered.

Nehemiah 10:34-39

34 yWe, the priests, the Levites, and the people, have likewise cast lots zfor the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, according to our fathershouses, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of the Lord our God, aaas it is written in the Law. 35We obligate ourselves abto bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord; 36also to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God, the firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, acas it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and of our flocks; 37 adand to bring the first of our dough, and our contributions, the fruit of every tree, the wine and the oil, to the priests, aeto the chambers of the house of our God; and to bring to the Levites the tithes from our ground, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all our towns where we labor. 38And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive the tithes. And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of afthe storehouse. 39For the people of Israel and the sons of Levi agshall bring the contribution of grain, wine, and oil to the chambers, where the vessels of the sanctuary are, as well as the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers. ahWe will not neglect the house of our God.”

1 Corinthians 9:10-14

10Does he not certainly speak for our sake? It was written aifor our sake, because ajthe plowman should plow in hope and the thresher thresh in hope of sharing in the crop. 11 akIf we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you? 12If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more?

Nevertheless, alwe have not made use of this right, but we endure anything amrather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.
13Do you not know that anthose who are employed in the temple service get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in the sacrificial offerings? 14In the same way, the Lord commanded that aothose who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel.
