Deuteronomy 15:11

11For athere will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, b‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

Matthew 25:35-45

35For cI was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you dgave me drink, eI was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 fI was naked and you clothed me, gI was sick and you hvisited me, iI was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And jthe King will answer them, kTruly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these lmy brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
you did it to me.’


41Then he will say to those on his left, nDepart from me, you ocursed, into pthe eternal fire prepared for qthe devil and his angels. 42For rI was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, syou did not do it to me.’

Matthew 26:11

11For tyou always have the poor with you, but uyou will not always have me.

John 12:7-8

7Jesus said, “Leave her alone, so that she may keep it
Or  Leave her alone; she intended to keep it
for the day of my burial.
8For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.”

2 Corinthians 9:13-14
