Deuteronomy 15:7-14

7If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, ayou shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, 8but byou shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be. 9Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your ceye look grudgingly
Or be evil; also verse 10
on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he ecry to the Lord against you, and fyou be guilty of sin.
10You shall give to him freely, and gyour heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because hfor this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. 11For ithere will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, j‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’

12 kIf your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold
Or sells himself
to you, he shall serve you six years, and in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.
13And when you let him go free from you, you shall not let him go empty-handed. 14You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress. mAs the Lord your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

Job 31:16-20

16 If I have nwithheld anything that the poor desired,
or have ocaused the eyes of the widow to fail,
17or have eaten my morsel alone,
and the fatherless has not eaten of it
18(for from my youth the fatherless

19if I have seen anyone rperish for slack of clothing,
or the needy without tcovering,
20if his body has not ublessed me,

Psalms 37:21

21 The wicked borrows but does not pay back,
but the righteous wis generous and gives;

Psalms 37:25-26

25 I have been young, and now am old,
yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his children xbegging for bread.
26He is ever ylending generously,
and his children become a blessing.

Psalms 112:5-9

5It is well with the man who zdeals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
6For the righteous will aanever be moved;
abhe will be remembered forever.
7He is not acafraid of bad news;
his adheart is firm, aetrusting in the Lord.
8His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
9He has afdistributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his aghorn is exalted in honor.

Matthew 25:35-40

35For ahI was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you aigave me drink, ajI was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 akI was naked and you clothed me, alI was sick and you amvisited me, anI was in prison and you came to me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40And aothe King will answer them, apTruly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these aqmy brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
you did it to me.’
