Deuteronomy 15:8-10

8but ayou shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be. 9Take care lest there be an unworthy thought in your heart and you say, ‘The seventh year, the year of release is near,’ and your beye look grudgingly
Or be evil; also verse 10
on your poor brother, and you give him nothing, and he dcry to the Lord against you, and eyou be guilty of sin.
10You shall give to him freely, and fyour heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because gfor this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.

Job 13:16-20

16This will be my salvation,
that the godless shall not come before him.
17 hKeep listening to my words,
and let my declaration be in your ears.
18Behold, I have iprepared my case;
I know that I shall be in the right.
19 jWho is there who will contend with me?

The Parable of the Great Banquet

12He said also to the man who had invited him, When you give sa dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers
Or  your brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to brothers or to brothers and sisters
or your relatives or rich neighbors, ulest they also invite you in return and you be repaid.
13But when you give a feast, vinvite wthe poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid xat ythe resurrection of the just.”

Luke 16:9

9And I tell you, zmake friends for yourselves by means of aaunrighteous wealth,
Greek mammon, a Semitic word for money or possessions; also verse 11; rendered money in verse 13
so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.


Luke 18:22

22When Jesus heard this, he said to him, One thing you still lack. acSell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have adtreasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

Luke 19:8

8And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods aeI give to the poor. And if I have afdefrauded anyone of anything, I restore it agfourfold.”
