Deuteronomy 17:11

11According to the instructions that they give you, and according to the decision which they pronounce to you, you shall do. You shall not turn aside from the verdict that they declare to you, either to the right hand or to the left.

1 Samuel 13:13-14

13And Samuel said to Saul, a“You have done foolishly. bYou have not kept the command of the Lord your God, with which he commanded you. For then the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever. 14But now cyour kingdom shall not continue. 1 Samuel 15:23

23For rebellion is as the sin of divination,
and presumption is as iniquity and fidolatry.
Because gyou have rejected the word of the Lord,
hhe has also rejected you from being king.”

1 Kings 11:12-13

12Yet for the sake of David your father I will not do it in your days, but I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13However, iI will not tear away all the kingdom, but jI will give one tribe to your son, for the sake of David my servant and for the sake of Jerusalem kthat I have chosen.”

1 Kings 11:34

34Nevertheless, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of David my servant whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes.

1 Kings 11:36

36Yet to his son lI will give one tribe, that David my servant may always have ma lamp before me in Jerusalem, nthe city where I have chosen to put my name.

2 Kings 10:30
