Deuteronomy 17:15

15you may indeed set a king over you awhom the Lord your God will choose. One bfrom among your brothers you shall set as king over you. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

1 Samuel 2:13

1 Samuel 10:25

2 Kings 17:33-34

33So they feared the Lord but also served their own gods, after the manner of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.

34To this day they do according to the former manner. They do not fear the Lord, and they do not follow the statutes or the rules or the law or the commandment that the Lord commanded the children of Jacob, fwhom he named Israel.

2 Kings 17:40

40However, they would not listen, but they did according to their former manner.
