Deuteronomy 17:16

16Only he must not acquire many ahorses for himself or cause the people bto return to Egypt in order to acquire many horses, since the Lord has said to you, c‘You shall never return that way again.’

21Behold, you are trusting now in Egypt, that broken reed of da staff, which will pierce the hand of any man who leans on it. Such is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

Isaiah 31:1

Woe to Those Who Go Down to Egypt

1 Woe to ethose who go down to Egypt for help
and rely on horses,
who ftrust in chariots because they are many
and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but gdo not look to the Holy One of Israel
or consult the Lord!

Isaiah 31:3

3The Egyptians are man, and not God,
and their horses hare flesh, and not spirit.
When the Lord stretches out his hand,
the helper will stumble, and he who is helped will fall,
and they will all perish together.

Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: rIf you set your faces to enter Egypt sand go to live there, 16then the sword tthat you fear shall overtake you there in the land of Egypt, and the famine of which you are afraid shall follow close after you to Egypt, uand there you shall die. 17All the men who set their faces to go to Egypt to live there shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. They shall have vno remnant or survivor from the disaster that I will bring upon them.

18For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: wAs my anger and my wrath were poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you when you go to Egypt. xYou shall become an execration, a horror, a curse, and a taunt. You shall see this place no more.

Ezekiel 17:15

15 yBut he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors zto Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. aaWill he thrive? Can one escape who does such things? Can he abbreak the covenant and yet escape?

Ezekiel 17:17

17 acPharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, adwhen mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.
