Deuteronomy 17:18-20

18“And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, ahe shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law, bapproved by
Hebrew from before
the Levitical priests.
19And dit shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, ethat he may learn to fear the Lord his God by keeping all the words of this law and these statutes, and doing them, 20that his heart may not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he fmay not turn aside from the commandment, either to the right hand or to the left, gso that he may continue long in his kingdom, he and his children, in Israel.

2 Chronicles 6:1-11

Solomon Blesses the People

1 hThen Solomon said, “The Lord has said that he would dwell in thick darkness. 2But I have built you ian exalted house, a place for you to dwell in forever.” 3Then the king turned around and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel stood. 4And he said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who with his hand has fulfilled what he promised with his mouth to David my father, saying, 5Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, that my name might be there, and I chose no man as prince over my people Israel; 6 jbut I have chosen Jerusalem that my name may be there, kand I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’ 7 lNow it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 8But the Lord said to David my father, ‘Whereas mit was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart. 9Nevertheless, it is not you who shall build the house, but your son who shall be born to you shall build the house for my name.’ 10Now the Lord has fulfilled his promise that he made. For I have risen in the place of David my father and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and I have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. 11And there I have set the ark, nin which is the covenant of the Lord that he made with the people of Israel.”

2 Chronicles 17:7-9

7In the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, oto teach in the cities of Judah; 8 pand with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah; and with these Levites, the priests Elishama and Jehoram. 9And qthey taught in Judah, having the Book of the Law of the Lord with them. They went about through all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

Nehemiah 8:2-5

2So Ezra the priest rbrought the Law before the assembly, both men and women and all who could understand what they heard, son the first day of the seventh month. 3 tAnd he read from it facing the square before the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of the men and the women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law. 4And Ezra the scribe stood on a wooden platform that they had made for the purpose. And beside him stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah, and Maaseiah on his right hand, and Pedaiah, Mishael, Malchijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah, and Meshullam on his left hand. 5And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people, for he was above all the people, and as he opened it all the people stood.
