30But aSihon the king of bHeshbon would not let us pass by him, for the Lord your God chardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might give him into your hand, as he is this day.

Israel Defeats Amaziah

have struck down Edom,’ and nyour heart has lifted you up in boastfulness. But now stay at home. Why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?”

20But Amaziah would not listen, for it was of God, in order that he might give them into the hand of their enemies, obecause they had sought the gods of Edom.
