Deuteronomy 2:30

30But aSihon the king of bHeshbon would not let us pass by him, for the Lord your God chardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate, that he might give him into your hand, as he is this day.

Proverbs 20:12

12 dThe hearing ear and the seeing eye,
ethe Lord has made them both.

Isaiah 6:9-10

9And he said, “Go, and say to this people:

f“‘Keep on hearing,
Or Hear indeed
but do not understand;
keep on seeing,
Or see indeed
but do not perceive.’
10 iMake the heart of this people jdull,
Hebrew fat

and their ears heavy,
and blind their eyes;
llest they see with their eyes,
and hear with their ears,
and understand with their hearts,
and turn and be healed.”

Isaiah 63:17

17O Lord, why do you make us wander from your ways
and mharden our heart, so that we fear you not?
nReturn for the sake of your servants,
the tribes of your heritage.

Ezekiel 36:26

26And I will give you oa new heart, and pa new spirit I will put within you. qAnd I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Matthew 13:11-15

11And he answered them, rTo you it has been given to know sthe secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. 12 tFor to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, ueven what he has will be taken away. 13This is why I speak to them in parables, because vseeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, wnor do they understand. 14Indeed, in their case the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:

x“‘“You will indeed hear but never understand,
and you will indeed see but never perceive.”
15For this people’s heart has grown dull,
and with their ears ythey can barely hear,
and ztheir eyes they have closed,
lest they should see with their eyes
and hear with their ears
and aaunderstand with their heart
and abturn, and I would heal them.’

John 8:43

43 acWhy do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot adbear to hear my word.
