Deuteronomy 2:7

7For the Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. aHe knows your going through this great wilderness. bThese forty years the Lord your God has been with you. You have lacked nothing.”’

Deuteronomy 8:2

2And you shall remember the whole way that the Lord your God has led you cthese forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, dtesting you eto know what was in your heart, fwhether you would keep his commandments or not.

Deuteronomy 8:15-16

15who gled you through the great and terrifying wilderness, hwith its fiery serpents and scorpions iand thirsty ground where there was no water, jwho brought you water out of the flinty rock, 16who fed you in the wilderness with kmanna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, lto do you good in the end.

Nehemiah 9:12-21

12By ma pillar of cloud you led them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night to light for them the way in which they should go. 13 nYou came down on Mount Sinai oand spoke with them from heaven and gave them pright rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments, 14 qand you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses your servant. 15 rYou gave them bread from heaven for their hunger and sbrought water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and you ttold them to go in to possess the land that you had sworn to give them.

16“But they and our fathers uacted presumptuously and stiffened their neck and did not obey your commandments. 17They refused to obey vand were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God ready to forgive, wgracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them. 18Even xwhen they had made for themselves a golden

calf and said, ‘This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt,’ zand had committed great blasphemies,
19you aain your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. abThe pillar of cloud to lead them in the way did not depart from them by day, acnor the pillar of fire by night to light for them the way by which they should go. 20 adYou gave your good Spirit to instruct them aeand did not withhold your manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst. 21 afForty years you sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

Isaiah 63:7-14

The Lord’s Mercy Remembered

7 I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord,
the praises of the Lord,
according to all that the Lord has granted us,
agand the great goodness to the house of Israel
that he has granted them according to his compassion,
according to the abundance of his steadfast love.
8For he said, “Surely they are my people,
children who will not deal falsely.”
And he became their Savior.
9 ahIn all their affliction he was afflicted,
Or  he did not afflict

and the angel of his presence saved them;
ajin his love and in his pity he redeemed them;
akhe lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
10 alBut they rebelled
amand grieved his Holy Spirit;
therefore he turned to be their enemy,
and himself fought against them.
11Then he remembered anthe days of old,
of Moses and his people.
Or  Then his people remembered the days of old, of Moses

apWhere is he who brought them up out of the sea
with the shepherds of his flock?
Where is he who put in the midst of them
his Holy Spirit,
12who caused his glorious arm
to go at the right hand of Moses,
aqwho divided the waters before them
arto make for himself an everlasting name,
13who led them through the depths?
Like a horse in the desert,
they did not stumble.
14Like livestock that go down into the valley,
asthe Spirit of the Lord gave them rest.
So you led your people,
atto make for yourself a glorious name.

Jeremiah 2:6

6They did not say, auWhere is the Lord
who brought us up from the land of Egypt,
who led us avin the wilderness,
in a land of deserts and pits,
in a land of drought and deep darkness,
in a land that none passes through,
where no man dwells?’
