Deuteronomy 20:1-4
Laws Concerning Warfare
1“When you go out to war against your enemies, and see ahorses and chariots and an army larger than your own, you shall not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is bwith you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. 2And when you draw near to the battle, cthe priest shall come forward and speak to the people 3and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, 4for the Lord your God is he who goes with you dto fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’Joshua 1:2-5
2“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. 3 eEvery place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. 4 fFrom the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. 5 gNo man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just has I was with Moses, so iI will be with you. jI will not leave you or forsake you.1 Kings 8:44-45
44“If your people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatever way you shall send them, and they pray to the Lord ktoward the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built for your name, 45then hear in heaven their prayer and their plea, and maintain their cause.2 Chronicles 14:11-12
11And Asa lcried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, mfor we rely on you, nand in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you.” 12 oSo the Lord defeated the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.2 Chronicles 20:4
4And Judah assembled to seek help from the Lord; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the Lord.
