Laws Concerning Levirate Marriage

5 aIf brothers dwell together, and one of them dies and has no son, the wife of the dead man shall not be married outside the family to a stranger. Her bhusband’s brother shall go in to her and take her as his wife and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. 6And the first son whom she bears shall succeed to the name of his dead brother, that chis name may not be blotted out of Israel.

Ruth 2:20-23

20And Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, d“May he be blessed by the Lord, whose kindness has not forsaken ethe living or the dead!” Naomi also said to her, “The man is a close relative of ours, one of four redeemers.” 21And Ruth the Moabite said, “Besides, he said to me, ‘You shall keep close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’” 22And Naomi said to Ruth, her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, lest in another field you be assaulted.” 23So she kept close to the young women of Boaz, gleaning until the end of the barley and wheat harvests. And she lived with her mother-in-law.

Hebrews 2:11-14

11For ghe who sanctifies and hthose who are sanctified iall have one source.
Greek  all are of one
That is why he is not ashamed to call them kbrothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verse 12
12saying,

m“I will tell of your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the ncongregation I will sing your praise.”
13And again,

oI will put my trust in him.”
And again,

pBehold, I and the children qGod has given me.”
14Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise rpartook of the same things, that sthrough death he might tdestroy uthe one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
