Luke 10:25-29

The Parable of the Good Samaritan

25 bAnd behold, a clawyer stood up to dput him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to einherit eternal life?” 26He said to him, What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27And he answered, f“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and gyour neighbor as yourself.” 28And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; hdo this, and you will live.”

29But he, idesiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Romans 3:19-20

19Now we know that whatever jthe law says it speaks to those who are under the law, kso that every mouth may be stopped, and lthe whole world may be held accountable to God. 20For mby works of the law no human being

will be justified in his sight, since othrough the law comes knowledge of sin.

Romans 4:13-15

The Promise Realized Through Faith

13For pthe promise to Abraham and his offspring qthat he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith. 14 rFor if it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is null and the promise is void. 15For sthe law brings wrath, but twhere there is no law uthere is no transgression.

Romans 7:5-13

5For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work vin our members wto bear fruit for death. 6But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the xnew way of ythe Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.

The Law and Sin

7What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, aaI would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if abthe law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8But sin, acseizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. adFor apart from the law, sin lies dead. 9I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10The very commandment aethat promised life proved to be death to me. 11For sin, afseizing an opportunity through the commandment, agdeceived me and through it killed me. 12So ahthe law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good.

13Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means! It was sin, producing death in me through what is good, in order that sin might be shown to be sin, and through the commandment might become sinful beyond measure.

Romans 8:3

3For aiGod has done what the law, ajweakened by the flesh, akcould not do. alBy sending his own Son amin the likeness of sinful flesh and anfor sin,
Or  and as a sin offering
he condemned sin in the flesh,

Romans 10:4-5

4For apChrist is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Or  end of the law, that everyone who believes may be justified
