Deuteronomy 28:1-14

Blessings for Obedience

1“And aif you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you bhigh above all the nations of the earth. 2And all these blessings shall come upon you and covertake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. 3Blessed shall you be in the city, and dblessed shall you be in the field. 4Blessed shall be ethe fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 5Blessed shall be your basket and your fkneading bowl. 6Blessed shall you be gwhen you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

7“The Lord hwill cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8The Lord iwill command the blessing on you in your barns and jin all that you undertake. kAnd he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 9 lThe Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. 10And mall the peoples of the earth shall see that you are ncalled by the name of the Lord, and they shall be oafraid of you. 11And pthe Lord will make you abound in prosperity, in qthe fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your livestock and in the fruit of your ground, within the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. 12The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, rto give the rain to your land in its season and sto bless all the work of your hands. And tyou shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. 13And the Lord will make you uthe head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to do them, 14 vand if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Deuteronomy 30:15-20

15See, wI have set before you today life and good, death and evil. 16If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God

that I command you today, yby loving the Lord your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules,

then you shall live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it.
17But if aayour heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, 18 abI declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, acblessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice adand holding fast to him, for aehe is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in afthe land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”

2 Chronicles 7:17-22

17And as for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, doing according to all that I have commanded you and keeping my statutes and my rules, 18then I will establish your royal throne, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, ag‘You shall not lack a man to rule Israel.’

turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them,
20 ajthen I will pluck you

up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it ala proverb and a byword among all peoples.
21And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, amWhy has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore he has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Isaiah 1:19-20

19 anIf you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
aofor the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

Ezekiel 33:25-26

25Therefore say to them, Thus says the Lord God: apYou eat flesh with the blood and aqlift up your eyes to your idols and arshed blood; shall you then possess the land? 26 asYou rely on the sword, atyou commit abominations, and aueach of you defiles his neighbor’s wife; shall you then possess the land?
