Deuteronomy 28:33

33A nation that you have not known shall eat up the fruit of your ground and of all your labors, and you shall be only oppressed and crushed continually,

Judges 6:3-6

3For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and athe Amalekites and bthe people of the East would come up against them. 4They would encamp against them cand devour the produce of the land, as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel and no sheep or ox or donkey. 5For they would come up with their livestock and their tents; they would come dlike locusts in number—both they and their camels could not be counted—so that they laid waste the land as they came in. 6And Israel was brought very low because of Midian. 2 Kings 13:3-7

29In the days of Pekah king of Israel, vTiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and captured wIjon, xAbel-beth-maacah, Janoah, yKedesh, zHazor, Gilead, and aaGalilee, all the land of Naphtali, and he carried the people captive to Assyria.
