36“The Lord will abring you and your king whom you set over you to a nation that neither you bnor your fathers have known. And cthere you shall serve other gods of wood and stone.

The Death of Saul

1 dNow the Philistines were fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel fled before the Philistines and fell slain eon Mount Gilboa. 2And the Philistines overtook Saul and his sons, and the Philistines struck down fJonathan and gAbinadab and Malchi-shua, the sons of Saul. 3 hThe battle pressed hard against Saul, and the archers found him, and he was badly wounded by the archers. 4 iThen Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these juncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, kfor he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword land fell upon it. 5And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died with him.

Hosea 10:3

3 For now they will say:
m“We have no king,
for we do not fear the Lord;
and a kingwhat could he do for us?”
