43 ^aThe sojourner who is among you shall rise higher and higher above you, and you shall come down lower and lower.

43 ^bMany times he delivered them,
but they were rebellious in their ^cpurposes
and were ^dbrought low through their iniquity.

6 The Lord preserves ^ethe simple;
when ^fI was brought low, he saved me.

6 ^gAttend to my cry,
for ^hI am brought very low!
Deliver me from my persecutors,
