Deuteronomy 29:23-28

23the whole land burned out with brimstone and asalt, nothing sown and nothing growing, where no plant can sprout, ban overthrow like that of Sodom and Gomorrah, cAdmah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger and wrath 24all the nations dwill say, eWhy has the Lord done thus to this land? What caused the heat of this great anger?’ 25Then people will say, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt, 26and went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they had not known and whom he had not allotted to them. 27Therefore the anger of the Lord was kindled against this land, fbringing upon it all the curses written in this book, 28and the Lord guprooted them from their land in anger and fury and great wrath, and hcast them into another land, as they are this day.’

2 Chronicles 36:21

21to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had ienjoyed its Sabbaths. All the days that it lay desolate jit kept Sabbath, to fulfill seventy years.

Jeremiah 25:9-11

9 kbehold, I will send for all the tribes of the north, declares the Lord, and for Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, lmy servant, and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations. I will devote them to destruction, mand make them a horror, a hissing, and an everlasting desolation. 10Moreover, nI will banish from them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, othe grinding of the millstones and pthe light of the lamp. 11 qThis whole land shall become a ruin and a waste, and rthese nations shall serve the king of Babylon sseventy years.

Ezekiel 6:14

14And tI will stretch out my hand against them and umake the land desolate and waste, vin all their dwelling places, from the wilderness to wRiblah.
