Deuteronomy 29:24-25

24all the nations awill say, bWhy has the Lord done thus to this land? What caused the heat of this great anger?’ 25Then people will say, ‘It is because they abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them out of the land of Egypt,

1 Kings 9:8-9

8And this house will become a heap of ruins.
Syriac, Old Latin; Hebrew  will become high
Everyone passing by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, dWhy has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?’
9Then they will say, ‘Because ethey abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Jeremiah 2:35

35you say, ‘I am innocent;
surely his anger has turned from me.’
fBehold, I will bring you to judgment
for gsaying, ‘I have not sinned.’

Jeremiah 5:19

19And when your people say, hWhy has the Lord our God done all these things to us?’ you shall say to them, ‘As you have forsaken me and served foreign gods in your land, iso you shall serve foreigners in a land that is not yours.’”

Jeremiah 13:22

22And if you say in your heart,
jWhy have these things come upon me?’
it is for the greatness of your iniquity
that kyour skirts are lifted up
and you suffer violence.

Jeremiah 22:8-9

8“‘And many nations will pass by this city, and every man will say to his neighbor, lWhy has the Lord dealt thus with this great city?” 9 mAnd they will answer, “Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and worshiped other gods and served them.”’”

Hosea 12:8

8Ephraim has said, “Ah, but nI am rich;
I have found wealth for myself;
in all my labors othey cannot find in me iniquity or sin.”
