Moses Forbidden to Enter the Land

23“And I pleaded with the Lord at that time, saying, 24‘O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant ayour greatness and your mighty hand. For bwhat god is there in heaven or on earth who can do such works and mighty acts as yours? 25Please let me go over and see cthe good land beyond the Jordan, that good hill country and dLebanon.’ 26But ethe Lord was angry with me because of you and would not listen to me. And the Lord said to me, f‘Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again. 27 gGo up to the top of Pisgah and lift up your eyes westward and northward and southward and eastward, and look at it with your eyes, for you shall not go over this Jordan.

that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and jhas not performed my commandments.” And Samuel was angry, and he cried to the Lord all night.

16David therefore sought God on behalf of the child. And David kfasted and went in land lay all night on the ground. 17And the elders of his house stood beside him, to raise him from the ground, but he would not, nor did he eat food with them. 18On the seventh day the child died. And the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they said, “Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spoke to him, and he did not listen to us. How then can we say to him the child is dead? He may do himself some harm.”

Psalms 77:2-11

2 mIn the day of my trouble I seek the Lord;
in nthe night my ohand is stretched out without wearying;
my soul prefuses to be comforted.
3When I remember God, I qmoan;
when I meditate, my spirit faints.  Selah
4 You hold my eyelids open;
I am so rtroubled that I cannot speak.
5I consider sthe days of old,
the years long ago.
6I said,
Hebrew lacks  I said
“Let me remember my usong in the night;
let me vmeditate in my heart.”
Then my spirit made a diligent search:
7“Will the Lord wspurn forever,
and never again xbe favorable?
8Has his steadfast love forever ceased?
Are his ypromises at an end for all time?
9 zHas God forgotten to be gracious?
aaHas he in anger shut up his compassion?”  Selah
10 Then I said, “I will appeal to this,
to the years of the abright hand of the Most High.”
Or This is my grief: that the right hand of the Most High has changed

11 I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will adremember your wonders of old.
