Repentance and Forgiveness

1 a“And bwhen all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and cyou call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, 2and dreturn to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3then the Lord your God ewill restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will fgather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.

Psalms 30:5

5 gFor his anger is but for a moment,
and hhis favor is for a lifetime.
Or  and in his favor is life

jWeeping may tarry for the night,
but kjoy comes with the morning.

Isaiah 10:4

4Nothing remains but to crouch among the prisoners
or fall among the slain.
lFor all this his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is stretched out still.

Comfort for God’s People

1 nComfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 oSpeak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her

that she has received from the Lord’s hand

Isaiah 57:15-18

Isaiah 66:13

13As one whom his mother comforts,
so agI will comfort you;
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
