Deuteronomy 30:11-14

The Choice of Life and Death

11 “For this commandment that I command you today ^ais not too hard for you, neither is it far off. 12 ^bIt is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.

Job 11:7-8

7 ^c“Can you find out the deep things of God?
Can you find out the limit of the Almighty?

Deeper than Sheol—what can you know?

Job 28:12-23

12 ^f“But where shall wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?
13 Man does not know its worth,

14 ^hThe deep says, ‘It is not in me,’
and the sea says, ‘It is not with me.’
15 It ⁱcannot be bought for gold,
and silver cannot be weighed as its price.
16 It cannot be valued in ^jthe gold of ^kOphir,
in precious ^lonyx or ^msapphire.
17 Gold and glass cannot equal it,
nor can it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
18 No mention shall be made of ⁿcoral or of crystal;
the price of wisdom is above ^o, ^ppearls.
19 ^qThe topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it,
nor can it be valued in pure gold.
20 “From where, then, does wisdom come?
And where is the place of understanding?
21 It is hidden from the eyes of ^rall living
and concealed from the birds of the air.
22 ^sAbaddon and Death say,
‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’
23 ^t“God understands the way to it,
and he knows its place.

Job 28:28

28 And he said to man,
‘Behold, ^uthe fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
and to ^vturn away from evil is understanding.’”

Psalms 36:6
