Deuteronomy 31:16

16And the Lord said to Moses, aBehold, you are about to lie down with your fathers. Then this people will rise and bwhore after the foreign gods among them in the land that they are entering, and they will cforsake me and dbreak my covenant that I have made with them.

Deuteronomy 31:20

20For when I have brought them into the land eflowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and fgrown fat, gthey will turn to other gods and serve them, and hdespise me and ibreak my covenant.

Judges 2:10-12

10And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.

Israel’s Unfaithfulness

11 jAnd the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and served the Baals. 12 kAnd they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt. lThey went after other gods, from among the gods of the peoples who were around them, and mbowed down to them. nAnd they provoked the Lord to anger.

2 Kings 17:14-15

14But they would not listen, obut were stubborn, as their fathers had been, who did not believe in the Lord their God. 15They despised his statutes pand his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. They went after qfalse idols rand became false, and they followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom the sLord had commanded them that they should not do like them.

Nehemiah 9:26-29

26 t“Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against you uand cast your law behind their back vand killed your prophets, who whad warned them in order to turn them back to you, xand they committed great blasphemies. 27 yTherefore you gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer. zAnd in the time of their suffering they cried out to you and you heard them from heaven, and according to your great mercies you gave them aasaviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies. 28 abBut after they had rest they did evil again before you, and you abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them. Yet when they turned and cried to you, you heard from heaven, acand many times you delivered them according to your mercies. 29 adAnd you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet aethey acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, afwhich if a person does them, he shall live by them, agand they turned a stubborn shoulder ahand stiffened their neck and would not obey.

Jeremiah 31:32

32not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when aiI took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, ajthough I was their husband, declares the Lord.
