Deuteronomy 32:15-23

15 “But aJeshurun grew fat, and bkicked;
cyou grew fat, stout, and sleek;
dthen he forsook God ewho made him
and scoffed at fthe Rock of his salvation.
16 gThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
17 hThey sacrificed to demons that were no gods,
to gods they had never known,
to inew gods that had come recently,
whom your fathers had never dreaded.
18You were unmindful of jthe Rock that bore
Or fathered
you,
and you lforgot the God who gave you birth.
19 m“The Lord saw it and spurned them,
because of the provocation of nhis sons and his daughters.
20And he said, o‘I will hide my face from them;
I will see what their end will be,
for they are a perverse generation,
children in whom is no faithfulness.
21 pThey have made me jealous with what is no god;
they have provoked me to anger qwith their idols.
So rI will make them jealous with those who are no people;
I will provoke them to anger with sa foolish nation.
22For ta fire is kindled by my anger,
and it burns to uthe depths of Sheol,
devours the earth and its increase,
and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23 “‘And I will heap disasters upon them;
vI will spend my arrows on them;

2 Kings 22:16-17

16Thus says the Lord, Behold, I will bring disaster upon this place and upon its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read. 17 wBecause they have forsaken me and have made offerings to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore xmy wrath will be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.

Isaiah 65:11

11But yyou who forsake the Lord,
who forget zmy holy mountain,
who aaset a table for Fortune
and abfill cups of mixed wine for Destiny,

Daniel 9:5-15

5 acwe have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly adand rebelled, turning aside from your commandments and rules. 6 aeWe have not listened to afyour servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to agour kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7To you, ahO Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, aithose who are near and ajthose who are far away, in akall the lands to which you have driven them, because of althe treachery that they have committed against you. 8To us, O Lord, belongs open shame, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because amwe have sinned against you. 9 anTo the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him 10 aoand have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by walking in his laws, which he set before us by aphis servants the prophets. 11 aqAll Israel has transgressed your law and turned aside, arrefusing to obey your voice. asAnd the curse and oath atthat are written in the Law of auMoses the servant of God have been poured out upon us, because avwe have sinned against him. 12He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against awour rulers who ruled us,
Or  our judges who judged us
by aybringing upon us a great calamity. azFor under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what has been done against Jerusalem.
13 baAs it is written in the Law of Moses, all this calamity has come upon us; yet we have not entreated the favor of the Lord our God, bbturning from our iniquities and gaining insight by your truth. 14 bcTherefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, bdfor the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and bewe have not obeyed his voice. 15And now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of the land of Egypt bfwith a mighty hand, and bghave made a name for yourself, as at this day, bhwe have sinned, we have done wickedly.
