Deuteronomy 32:16-17

16 aThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
17 bThey sacrificed to demons that were no gods,
to gods they had never known,
to cnew gods that had come recently,
whom your fathers had never dreaded.

2 Kings 17:15-17

15They despised his statutes dand his covenant that he made with their fathers and the warnings that he gave them. and used ndivination and oomens and psold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking him to anger.
