Deuteronomy 32:16-21

16 ^aThey stirred him to jealousy with strange gods;
with abominations they provoked him to anger.
17 ^bThey sacrificed to demons that were no gods,
to gods they had never known,
to ^cnew gods that had come recently,
whom your fathers had never dreaded.
18 You were unmindful of ^dthe Rock that bore ^{▼▼Or fathered} you,
and you ^fforgot the God who gave you birth.
19 ^g“The Lord saw it and spurned them,
because of the provocation of ^hhis sons and his daughters.
20 And he said, ⁱ‘I will hide my face from them;
I will see what their end will be,
for they are a perverse generation,
children in whom is no faithfulness.
21 ^jThey have made me jealous with what is no god;
they have provoked me to anger ^kwith their idols.
So ^lI will make them jealous with those who are no people;
I will provoke them to anger with ^ma foolish nation.

Isaiah 1:4

4 Ah, sinful nation,
a people laden with iniquity,
ⁿoffspring of evildoers,
children who deal corruptly!
They have forsaken the Lord,
they have ^odespised ^pthe Holy One of Israel,
they are utterly ^qestranged.

Jeremiah 8:5-6
