Deuteronomy 32:21-25

21 ^aThey have made me jealous with what is no god;
they have provoked me to anger ^bwith their idols.
So ^cI will make them jealous with those who are no people;
I will provoke them to anger with ^da foolish nation.
22 For ^ea fire is kindled by my anger,
and it burns to ^fthe depths of Sheol,
devours the earth and its increase,
and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.
23 “‘And I will heap disasters upon them;
^gI will spend my arrows on them;
24 they shall be wasted with hunger,
and devoured by plague
and poisonous pestilence;
I will send ^hthe teeth of beasts against them,
with the venom of ⁱthings that crawl in the dust.
25 ^jOutdoors the sword shall bereave,
and indoors terror,
for young man and woman alike,
the nursing child with the man of gray hairs.

Jeremiah 6:11-12

11 Therefore I am full of the wrath of the Lord;
^kI am weary of holding it in.
^l“Pour it out upon the children in the street,
and upon the gatherings of young men, also;
^mboth husband and wife ⁿshall be taken,
the elderly and the very aged.
12 ^oTheir houses shall be turned over to others,
their fields and wives together,
for I will stretch out my hand
against the inhabitants of the land,”

declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 7:20

20 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, ^pmy anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place, upon man and beast, upon the trees of the field and the fruit of the ground; ^qit will burn and not be quenched.”

Jeremiah 9:9-11

9 ^rShall I not punish them for these things? declares the Lord,
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?
10 “I will take up weeping and wailing for the mountains,
and a lamentation for ^sthe pastures of the wilderness,
^tbecause they are laid waste so that no one passes through,
and the lowing of cattle is not heard;
^uboth the birds of the air and the beasts
have fled and are gone.
11 ^vI will make Jerusalem a heap of ruins,

^xand I will make the cities of Judah a desolation,
without inhabitant.”

Jeremiah 13:14

14 And I will ^ydash them one against another, fathers and sons together, declares the Lord. I will not pity or spare or have compassion, that I should not destroy them.’”
