Deuteronomy 32:26-27

26 aI would have said, “I will cut them to pieces;
bI will wipe them from human memory,”
27had I not feared provocation by the enemy,
lest their adversaries should misunderstand,
lest they should say, c“Our hand is triumphant,
it was not the Lord who did all this.”’

Ezekiel 36:22-23

I Will Put My Spirit Within You

22Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: nIt is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, owhich you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23 pAnd I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. qAnd the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.

Joel 2:17

17 rBetween the svestibule and the taltar
ulet the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep
and say, “Spare your people, O Lord,
and make not your heritage a reproach,
a byword among the nations.
Or  reproach, that the nations should rule over them

wWhy should they say among the peoples,
Where is their God?’”
