Moses Commands Obedience

1“And now, O Israel, listen to athe statutes and the rules
Or just decrees; also verses 5, 8, 14, 45
that I am teaching you, and do them, cthat you may live, and go in and take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you.

1And Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the rules that I speak in your hearing today, and you shall learn them and be careful to do them.

Deuteronomy 6:1-2

The Greatest Commandment

1“Now this is dthe commandment—the statutes and the rules
Or just decrees; also verse 20
that the Lord your God commanded me to teach you, that you may do them in the land to which you are going over, to possess it,
2that fyou may fear the Lord your God, you and your son and your son’s son, by keeping all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, all the days of your life, and gthat your days may be long.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13

Circumcise Your Heart

12“And now, Israel, hwhat does the Lord your God require of you, but ito fear the Lord your God, jto walk in all his ways, kto love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13and lto keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today mfor your good?

Love and Serve the Lord

1 n“You shall therefore love the Lord your God and okeep his charge, his statutes, his rules, and his commandments always.

Ezekiel 18:17

17withholds his hand from iniquity,
Septuagint; Hebrew  from the poor
takes no interest or profit, obeys my rules, qand walks in my statutes; he shall not die for his father’s iniquity; rhe shall surely live.

Ezekiel 20:13

13 sBut the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. tThey did not walk in my statutes but rejected my rules, by which, if a person does them, he shall live; uand my Sabbaths they greatly profaned.

Ezekiel 33:15

15if the wicked wrestores the pledge, xgives back what he has taken by robbery, and walks yin the statutes of life, not doing injustice, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

Ezekiel 36:27

27 zAnd I will put my Spirit within you, aaand cause you to walk in my statutes and abbe careful to obey my rules.

24“My servant adDavid aeshall be king over them, and they shall all have afone shepherd. agThey shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.
