Nehemiah 1:6

6 flet your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants, gconfessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even hI and my father’s house have sinned.

Nehemiah 1:11

11O Lord, ilet your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.”

Nehemiah 2:1-8

Nehemiah Sent to Judah

1In the month of Nisan, kin the twentieth year of King lArtaxerxes, when wine was before him, mI took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence. 2And the king said to me, “Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing but nsadness of the heart.” Then I was very much afraid. 3I said to the king, o“Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, pwhen the city, the place of my fathersgraves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?” 4Then the king said to me, “What are you requesting?” So I prayed qto the God of heaven. 5And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, and if your servant has found favor in your sight, that you send me to Judah, to the city of my fathersgraves, that I may rebuild it.” 6And the king said to me ( rthe queen sitting beside him), “How long will you be gone, and when will you return?” So it pleased the king to send me swhen I had given him a time. 7And I said to the king, “If it pleases the king, let letters be given me tto the governors of the province Beyond the River, that they may let me pass through until I come to Judah, 8and a letter to Asaph, the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of uthe fortress of the temple, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall occupy.” And the king granted me what I asked, vfor the good hand of my God was upon me.

Psalms 9:18

18 For the needy shall not always be forgotten,
and wthe hope of the poor shall not perish forever.

Psalms 72:12

12 For he delivers xthe needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no helper.

Jeremiah 29:11-14

11 yFor I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare
Or peace
and not for evil, aato give you a future and a hope.
12 abThen you will call upon me and come and pray to me, acand I will hear you. 13 adYou will seek me and find me, when you seek me aewith all your heart. 14I will be found by you, declares the Lord, afand I will restore your fortunes and aggather you from all the nations and all the places ahwhere I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
