6 aKeep them and do them, for bthat will be your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ 7For cwhat great nation is there that has da god so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? 8And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so erighteous as all this law that I set before you today?

Deuteronomy 4:32-38

The Lord Alone Is God

32For fask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether such a great thing as this has ever happened or was ever heard of. 33 gDid any people ever hear the voice of a god speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and still live? 34Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, hby signs, by wonders, and iby war, jby a mighty hand and kan outstretched arm, and by great deeds of terror, all of which the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes? 35To you it was shown, lthat you might know that the Lord is God; mthere is no other besides him. 36 nOut of heaven he let you hear his voice, that he might discipline you. And on earth he let you see his great fire, and oyou heard his words out of the midst of the fire. 37And because phe loved your fathers and chose their offspring after them
Hebrew his offspring after him
and brought you out of Egypt rwith his own presence, by his great power,
38 sdriving out before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land for an inheritance, as it is this day,

Joshua 2:9-11

9and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, tand that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land umelt away before you. 10For we have heard how the Lord vdried up the water of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and wwhat you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, to xSihon and Og, whom you devoted to destruction.
That is, set apart ( devoted) as an offering to the Lord (for destruction)
11And zas soon as we heard it, aaour hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for abthe Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.

Joshua 9:6-9

6And they went to Joshua in acthe camp at Gilgal and said to him and to the men of Israel, “We have come from a distant country, so now make a covenant with us.” 7But the men of Israel said to adthe Hivites, “Perhaps you live among us; then aehow can we make a covenant with you?” 8They said to Joshua, af“We are your servants.” And Joshua said to them, “Who are you? And where do you come from?” 9They said to him, ag“From a very distant country your servants have come, because of the name of the Lord your God. ahFor we have heard a report of him, and all that he did in Egypt,

1 Kings 10:1-13

The Queen of Sheba

1 aiNow when ajthe queen of akSheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came alto test him with hard questions. 2She came to Jerusalem with a very great retinue, with camels ambearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. And when she came to Solomon, she told him all that was on her mind. 3And Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing hidden from the king that he could not explain to her. 4And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, 5the food of his table, the seating of his officials, and the attendance of his servants, their clothing, his cupbearers, and his burnt offerings that he offered at the house of the Lord, there was no more breath in her.

6And she said to the king, “The report was true that I heard in my own land of your words and of your wisdom, 7but I did not believe the reports until I came and my own eyes had seen it. And behold, the half was not told me. Your wisdom and prosperity surpass the report that I heard. 8 anHappy are your men! Happy are your servants, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom! 9 aoBlessed be the Lord your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! apBecause the Lord loved Israel forever, he has made you king, aqthat you may execute justice and righteousness.” 10 arThen she gave the king 120 talents
A  talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms
of gold, and a very great quantity of spices and precious stones. Never again came such an abundance of spices as these that the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

11Moreover, atthe fleet of Hiram, which brought augold from Ophir, brought from Ophir a very great amount of almug wood and precious stones. 12And the king made of the almug wood supports for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house, also lyres and harps for the singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day.

13And King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all that she desired, whatever she asked besides what was given her by the bounty of King Solomon. So she turned and went back to her own land with her servants.

1 Kings 10:24

24And the whole earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put into his mind.

2 Chronicles 2:11-12

11Then Hiram the king of Tyre answered in a letter that he sent to Solomon, av“Because the Lord loves his people, he has made you king over them.” 12Hiram also said, “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, awwho made heaven and earth, who has given King David a wise son, who has discretion and understanding, axwho will build a temple for the Lord and a royal palace for himself.
